Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Stuart Irvine and is back with another edition of the Wednesday Night Warfare review series. Where every week I will review both AEW and NXT weekly show’s and see who had the better.

So, AEW Dynamite, this week it was live in Boston, MA with Jim Ross, Excalibur, & Tony Schiavone on commentary. So that get this review underway and take a look at 9th October 2019 edition of AEW Dynamite.

The Young Bucks vs. Private Party in the quarter-finals of the AEW Tag Team Championship Tournament.

My Opinion: Wow what a way to kick off the Tag Team Tournament with a high flying masterclass with two teams that are very similar to each other. The Young Bucks did control most of the match with them still showing why there are the best tag team in the world.

This is a breakout performance by the Private Party with a team, I haven't heard off before but I do know them now and the crowd was totally into this match. That combination near the end with the Hurricanrana off the top rope into a cutter then a shooting star press for the 2 was excellent, and that should have been the finish.

But, the Private Party did get a surprise win when they counted the Meltzer driver into cradles for the 1,2,3. I didn’t see them getting the win but they need to win more to get over. Also, with Young Bucks being involved with the Chris Jericho storyline they didn’t need the win here.

So is looking forward to seeing who Private Party face next between Lucha Brothers and Jurassic Express but what a way to start the show.

My Rating: 4 out of 5

The Inner Circle Was Born

My Opinion: Is in love with this group already now that how you introduce a new stadle. It’s Chris at his heel best here with him making Santana, Ortiz, Hager, & Guevara look like a million bucks.

The best part was the way he shut down the crowd when he was introducing Jake Hager (AKA formerly Jake Swagger) and the crowd were chanting ‘WE THE PEOPLE’ and Chris said ‘it was a stupid idea from bad creative and that it’s dead and gone’ great stuff by Le Champion.

I think this is the first time Chris Jerchico has had a stable so the pretty cool and it’s nice to see faction warfare again. I see they got the idea from NJPW with faction warfare and that was pretty awesome, so is looking forward to seeing where the Elite vs The Inner Circle storyline will go.

My Rating: 4 out of 5

Jimmy Havoc vs. Darby Allin in a #1 Contender’s Match for the AEW World Championship

My Opinion: Very solid and enjoyable match here and was nice to see these two can put on a very good match without any weapons. Jimmy Havoc control most the match with a lot of hand bites on Darby, I see it was done to make Darby look strong and to get how tough he is for a man of his size.

But Darby Allin gets the win with a stunner then a coffin drop to get the 1 2 3. So Darby Allin vs Chris Jericho for the World Title should be good, we know he isn’t going to win but it’s shaping up to be a great match and they have built him up well so he will be a big threat to Chris.

Jimmy Havoc looked good and I liked that promo before the match, I see him getting a world title match at some point, but it wasn't his time and that what AEW does so well they make everyone feel like they can challenge for the title, which is great.

My Rating: 3 out of 5

Bea Priestley & Emi Sukura vs. Riho & Dr Britt Baker.

My Opinion: Really good and action-packed tag team match here, it does still feel a bit off with some of the moves but overall good match. I like the storyline with Emi Sukura being Riho former teacher as that makes an interesting dynamic and also was a nice way to continue rival between Priestly and Baker added to the match.

But Riho & Dr Britt Baker get the win with Baker locking in the crossface and the mandible claw for the submission win. This did well to build the future storylines here and get me interested in a match between Priestly and Baker which I have to admit I didn’t know much about.

So Dr Britt Baker vs Riho for the AEW Women’s Title next week should be good, but for some reason, the women's division in AEW isn’t getting off to a flyer I mean it’s good but just needs something more but it’s early days so I bet it will get better soon.

My Rating: 3 out of 5

– Next, we got a Best Friends interviewed hyping up their chance next week against SCU in the tag tournament. Then they pointed to Orange Cassidy and he gives a thumbs up and enough said. It simple and build for the tag match next week which looks to be a classic.

- For some reason, Pac joins commentary, always good to see Pac on TV so happy days.

Jon Moxley vs. Shawn Spears:

My Opinion: Nice hard-hitting match here and a good match for Jon Moxley first match back after his elbow injury. Had a lot of hard strikes with Shawn Spears looking good here but you expect nothing less for two men that know each other very well from their WWE days.

But no surprise that Moxley gets the win with a death rider and looks strong going into this match with Kenny Omega at Full Gear. It's getting a bit interesting with maybe Pac getting into the story and a three-way match between those men would be amazing to see.

My Rating: 3 out of 5

- After the match, Kenny arrives with barbed wire bat and broom and gives the bat to Moxley, a bit of a weird chose for Kenny to go for broom but I guess if he the cleaner that makes sense.

- But, before he could attack Pac attacks Omega with a chair from behind. As I said earlier ‘three-way match between those men would be amazing to see’.

Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara vs. Dustin Rhodes & Hangman Page.

My Opinion: So really good main event here with it continuing nicely with the Elite vs The Inner Circle storyline. I like the team charisma of Dustin and Hangman the old and young dynamic I like a lot. The best parts of the match were the double teams by Dustin and Page lead to Page hitting the running shooting star press for a near fall.

But Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara get the win a Judas effect on Dustin to get the 1 2 3. The champ always has to look strong here and in their debut night as a group the inner circle needed the win.

Also, I know I’m repeating myself but I love that they are protecting that Judas effect finisher it just nice to see a finisher feel important again. I do think last week main event was better but that just my opinion but a good way to end another pretty decent show by AEW.

My Rating: 3 out of 5

- After the match another beat down similar to last week when the lights go out and it’s Cody. He gets revenge on Guevara for last week then is taken out by Santana & Ortiz. MJF comes out with a chair and they tease him turning on Cody which when that happens it’s going to be amazing but glad they didn’t do it here.

- Then Bucks come out and clean house with the babyfaces getting the last word in the ring, then just before Jericho leaving he gets attack by Darby Allin with him riding down on his skateboard which was pretty cool to see. This just wants you to watch AEW next week god I love this company already.

Final Thoughts:

So another solid show here by AEW every match was good to great. Love the opener with Private Party vs The Young Bucks which a nice surprise with a Private Party win, really into the Inner Circle sable, Darby Allin getting a title shot will make next week a much see.

Kenny Omega vs Jon Moxley is getting more interesting with the addition of Pac in the mix and faction warfare between Elite vs The Inner Circle has begun and can’t wait to see where it goes. So I hope you have enjoyed my review of 9th October edition and will be back with another Wednesday Warfare review.
