Welcome to Season 4 of my Best Matches series: where I look at the best matches of a certain wrestler. This season I look at some of Latino Heat Eddie Guerrero's Greatest Matches, from his time in ECW and WCW to his WWE Title reign and much more.
If you haven't already checked out the previous seasons in the link below:
Check out the last two seasons:
Kenny Omega (Season 1)
Becky Lynch (Season 2)
Stone Cold Steve Austin (Season 3)
So next we look when Eddie teamed with Art Barr to take on El Hijo De Santo & Octagon in a two out of three falls, mask vs hair match at AAA When Worlds Collide back in 1994.
Season 4 Episode Eight
Mask vs. Hair: Two Out of Three Falls Match Eddie Guerrero & Art Barr vs. El Hijo Del Santo & Octagon AAA When Worlds Collide • November 6, 1994

It is crazy watching this match as I’ve never heard of anyone in this match except for Eddie of course haha. This was a well put together match-up which normally wouldn't be great to watch as two out of three falls normally aren't.
I love that the first two falls were done quickly as well as you have to pin both men to get the fall victory (That may have already been the rule, I’ve just never heard of it haha). The pacing was great, the crowd was hot and it had everything a great wrestling match needs to be enjoyable.
The hair vs mask stipulation is perfect as in Mexico losing your mask is a big deal and Eddie & Art hair is everything to them, so it has steaks. That Flog Splash by Art Barr was insane and it is sad that a couple of months after this match he died.
But overall you see where Eddie we know and love got a lot of style and character from and this match is worth checking out as it's an eye-opener to what Eddie will become and to see how good Art Barr was as well.
Verdict: 7 out of 10
