Welcome to Season 5 of my Best Matches series: where I look at the best matches of a certain wrestler. This season I look at one of the best wrestling reinventors of all time (my opinion, of course, haha) and distant family member Chris Jericho (no proof of that, just that his real-life surname is Irvine so you never know haha).

I'll look at his time in WCW, his battles in the 2000s with the likes of Triple and The Rock, to his late WWE career, his time at New Japan etc. If you want to look at my previous series then click on the link below.

(These posts will be once a week and not every day as in the previous series. So every Wednesday at 1 pm (UK Time) these reviews will be up)

Check out the last four seasons:

Kenny Omega (Season 1)

Becky Lynch (Season 2)

Stone Cold Steve Austin (Season 3)

Eddie Guerrero (Season 4)

Next, we look at Chris Jericho's World Heavyweight Championship match against the Rated R Superstar Edge at WrestleMania 26.

Season 5 Episode Seven

World Heavyweight Championship Match Chris Jericho vs. Edge WrestleMania 26 • 28th March 2010

So knowing what these two are capable of you knew you were going to get a great match and you did here. It took a while to get going with the crowd not really getting into it at first, but with Edge and Jericho knowing each other so well and the well-timed near falls the crowd started getting into it.

The counter by both men was really cool with Jericho counting the spear with a codebreaker too and cool counters by Edge with roll-ups, Edgecution etc ( I can’t remember them all but they were really good haha). Nice use of the injury that left Edge out of action for a year, but wished they used it more as they only really used near the end.

But the finish for me was a bit sudden as I thought it would go for another 5 or 10 minutes, and the cheating by Jericho hitting Edge with the belt should have been the finish. But Jericho winning with a second codebreaker I was ok with as Edge got his revenge with the spear on Jericho on the announce table, so everyone won and looked great haha.

I think this match was a great example of two wrestlers at their prime knowing how to put on a really enjoyable match with the time they had. But overall you should check this match out just because Jericho vs Edge will always be a good match to put on if you need your wrestling fix haha

Verdict: 7 out of 10
