Welcome to Season 3 of my Best Matches series: where I look at some of Stone Cold Steve Austin's Greatest Matches from him being Stunning Steve Austin to Raising Hell on Mr McMahan during the Attitude Era. I got some of these matches of the Legacy of Stone Cold Steve Austin DVD which was released in 2007.

So next we look at his Tag Team title match where he teams up with Shawn Michaels to take on Owen Hart & the British Bulldog on May 25th 1997 edition of Monday Night RAW.

If there was a blueprint for how to do a Tag Team match that this is the match to watch, the pacing was spot on and those 15 minutes flown by and you didn't want it to end, it was that good. It has everything you want with hot tags, heels distracting the ref, fake hot tags etc.
I’ve never seen a tag match work so well here. Shawn Michaels didn’t miss a step and you wouldn’t know that this was his first match back and, being the legal man, the duration of the match is even more impressive.
The finish with Shawn hitting Sweet Chin Music behind the ref's back and Austin getting the pin was cool and the heels getting what they deserve. It was funny that Austin wasn’t in most of his matches, but Shawn and Austin as a Tag Team worked as they were the opposites of each other, one of the best main events of all time and great to watch.
Verdict: 9 out of 10
