Welcome to Season 4 of my Best Matches series: where I look at the best matches of a certain wrestler. This season I look at some of Latino Heat Eddie Guerrero's Greatest Matches, from his time in ECW and WCW to his WWE Title reign and much more.
If you haven't already checked out the previous seasons in the link below:
Check out the last two seasons:
Kenny Omega (Season 1)
Becky Lynch (Season 2)
Stone Cold Steve Austin (Season 3)
So next we look at his match at one of Eddie's last matches when he faced off against Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE No Mercy 2005.
Season 4 Episode Four
World Heavyweight Championship Match Eddie Guerrero vs. Batista No Mercy 2005 • October 9, 2005

This is a textbook-match on character work and telling an interesting story in the ring. I love that Eddie was fighting his conscience whether he should cheat like the old Eddie or the new and improved Eddie Guerrero. The match was set up with Eddie working in Batista back to stop Batista from hitting the Batista Bomb.
Highlights were the Flog splash on Batista's Back and the moment Eddie deciding whether to use the chair on Batista with the ref was down. But for some reason, it felt like there was something missing that they were holding back. I hated that the Spinebuster that normally wouldn't win matches beat Eddie here, that was a weird finish that didn't feel right.
It’s sad watching this match, as it's one of Eddie’s last matches as he died only a couple of months later. He still died before his time and watching this match really makes you think that if he was still alive, this storyline could have gone somewhere and could have been one of Eddie’s best feuds. But If you want to watch one of Eddie’s last matches, definitely check this one out.
Verdict: 6 out of 10
