Welcome to Season 3 of my Best Matches series: where I look at some of Stone Cold Steve Austin's Greatest Matches from him being Stunning Steve Austin to Raising Hell on Mr McMahan during the Attitude Era. I got some of these matches of the Legacy of Stone Cold Steve Austin DVD which was released in 2007.

So next we look at his time in ECW with him taking on Mikey Whipwreack and Sandman in a Triangle Match for the ECW Title at December to Dismember in 1995.

Season 3 Episode Two

Triangle Match for the ECW Championship Mikey Whipwreck vs. Steve Austin vs. Sandman ECW December to Dismember • December 9, 1995

This match was a trainwreck but in a good way, it was so weird seeing Austin in ECW as I never knew he was part of the company. It was a good decision starting with Austin and Whipwreak, as it looked like Mikey ability in the ring wasn’t the greatest and Austin would be able to control the match. But when Sandman entered the match picked up.

Wasn’t a fan of how long it took Sandman to enter the ring with his music kept playing, which got annoying after a couple of minutes, but I guess that maybe just me I don’t know haha? I liked the double low blow by Whipwreak on Austin and Sandman as one last attempt to get the win.

Whipwreck getting eliminated first was the right call and loving how down and dirty this match got, with both unable to stand up because of how claustrophobic it was. But Sandman outsmarting Steve using Brass Kumble's he used on him earlier was really cool to see (I love the use of Brass Kumble's to win matches haha).

The ref not seeing Austin's foot on the bottom rope protected Steve in the sense that he didn't lose clean. But seeing Steve giving middle fingers and drinking beer, this much of been where Steve got the idea for the Stone Cold Steve Austin character.

My Verdict: 7 out of 10
