Welcome to Season 4 of my Best Matches series: where I look at the best matches of a certain wrestler. This season I look at some of Latino Heat Eddie Guerrero's Greatest Matches, from his time in ECW and WCW to his WWE Title reign and much more.
If you haven't already checked out the previous seasons in the link below:
Check out the last two seasons:
Kenny Omega (Season 1)
Becky Lynch (Season 2)
Stone Cold Steve Austin (Season 3)
So next we look at his matchup in WCW with Shinjiro Otani at WCW Starrcade 1995.
Season 4 Episode Two
Singles Match Eddie Guerrero vs. Shinjiro Otani WCW Starrcade 95 • December 27, 1995

Wow, that was a fun match to watch, I mean I never heard of Otani until now and dam that guy can go. I can see why people like this match, with both men doing moves, that are normal now but wasn't back then. Also, that stringboard dropkick by Otani on the back of the head of Eddie was awesome in so many ways. It was technically really solid with these two having similar styles, with them both having high flying and submission moves in their arsenal.
I have to mention that Dusty Rhodes was all over the part at times on commentary, but I do love the line, when Bobby 'the Brain' Heenan asked Dusty if he was Eddie in this part of the match what he would be thinking and Dusty said ‘I’ve lost a lot of weight’, it was really funny and couldn’t stop laughing when I heard it.
But Eddie looked great and is a good example of how good Eddie was in the ring and his style of wrestling was a joy to watch. But definitely check this match out as it’s a little gem and shows why WCW was really good back in the mid-’90s.
Verdict: 7 out of 10
