So one of many ideas I have put together over the years, this one I wish to continue where I look at certain wrestler's greatest matches. This was a series I did on Instagram with Season One being on Kenny Omega best matches in New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Season Two being on Becky Lynch best matches in WWE/NXT letting up to WrestleMania 35.
Check out the last two seasons:
Kenny Omega (Season 1)
Becky Lynch (Season 2)
So in Season 3, I will look at the legend that is Stone Cold Steve Austin from him being Stunning Steve Austin to Raising Hell on Mr McMahan during the Attitude Era. I got some of these matches of the Legacy of Stone Cold Steve Austin DVD which was released in 2007.
Season 3 Episode One
WCW United States Championship Match Stunning Steve Austin vs. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat WCW Clash of the Champions XXVII • August 28, 1994

I got to be honest, I really enjoyed this match with Steamboat, really putting Austin over with whenever Ricky was about to get momentum, Austin kept cutting him off. I was a bit confused with the DQ'd situation, with Steamboat winning the title if Austin gets DQ'd. Even Bobby the Brain Heenan was confused with him thinking it was a No DQ match.
The main focus on Hogan getting attacked and cuts to announcers listening to a guy called Ron telling them about the man that attacked Hogan, as well as cutting to a car following the ambulance was a bit disrespectful and it told you that this match wasn’t important.
But the finish with Steamboard getting the roll-up victory worked as The Dragon was the underdog for most of the match. But good match overall, just disappointed it was overshadowed by the Hogan situation which shows you WCW in a nutshell.
Verdict: 6 out of 10
