This is a great time to be a pro wrestling fan, with basically having wrestling 5 days a week. From RAW on Mondays, Impact Wrestling on Tuesday, AEW Dynamite & NXT on Wednesday, NXT UK on Thursday, and Smackdown on Friday, and that shows we know off.
WIth NJPW having a weekly slot now, and up and coming promotions like MLW getting TV time, it so hard to kept track of it all. So with this new blog series, I'm going to catch up with Ten matches I'll be told to check out or I'll really want to watch just couldn't find the time in the last month.
(So every Monday at 1 pm (UK Time) these reviews will be up)
Next, I look at the NXT Cruiserweight championship matchup when the champ, Jordan Devlin faced off against Trent Seven on the 18th March 2021 edition of NXT UK.
Singles Match for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship. Jordan Devlin vs. Trent Seven NXT UK • 18th March 2021

So has had a new appreciation for NXT UK lately, after watching the match on the previous episode of this review series. I am also a huge fan of both Jordan Devlin and Trent Seven, so was it really interested to see how this match was going to play out, and wow it didn’t disappoint.
Both men putting on a very hard-hitting, fast pace and exciting match-up that showcase their talents very well. As you expect with a technical match-up like this, it had a lot of stiff shots, working on body parts, and a lot of impressive moves sets by both guys.
This was evident in the opening bell, when Trent Seven when right at Devlin with stiff shots to his face. It didn’t let up with Trent hitting a snapdragon suplex on Jordan Devlin on the outside, which looked really cool and hurt Devlin's neck, which Trent worked on during the match.
Jordan Devlin got back into it, and started working on the back of Trent, at one point he stretched him around the ring post which looked legit and really nasty to watch. But it got physical with both men trying everything.
With Devlin locking in the cloverleaf submission, as well as Trent locking in the half Boston crab, but both men were just able to get to the bottom rope. But the best part of the match was, when Trent hit an awesome dragon suplex on Devlin from the top rope, then a birminghammer, and looked like he was going to win.
But Devlin just moved his foot underneath the rope to break the count. But Devlin using the time of Trent shock of the kick out, to thumb Trent in the eye, and hit the Devlin Slide, but Trent just kicked out. Nonetheless, Devlin finally got the win in the end, with a 450 splash on Trent's injured back to get the three.
Just wish this match was longer as these guys have great chemistry in the ring, and would love to see these guys meet in the future, maybe in a best of five series (I do love best of 5 series type of matches haha). The more I watch NXT UK the more I become a fan, and if you need another reason to start watching, then this match is a great way to start, so you should check it out.
Verdict: 8 out of 10
